The Parker 51 Presidential represents one of the most luxurious versions of Parker's iconic 51 fountain pen. Crafted in England from solid 9K gold, this example features an engine-turned Wavy Line pattern across the cap and barrel, complemented by a matching gold Parker arrow clip. The barrel, cap, and clip carry 9K gold hallmarks, including the .375 fineness mark.
Beneath the solid gold exterior is the classic Parker 51 design, with its streamlined hooded nib and Aerometric filling system. The black section provides a sharp contrast against the patterned gold body, while the engraved initials reflect the pen's individual history. Solid-gold Presidential models were the premium expression of the Parker 51 and are considerably less common than standard and gold-filled examples.
Documented 9K solid gold Parker 51 Wavy Line examples are known from circa 1954 through at least the mid-1960s. Individual examples can often be dated more precisely through their British assay hallmarks.
