What is and what is not covered by the S.T. Dupont warranty?

The warranty for S.T. Dupont lighters generally covers a period of two years from the date of purchase. This warranty is limited to manufacturing defects and craftsmanship issues. It's important to note that the warranty does not cover wear and tear from regular use, accidental damage, or problems arising from improper maintenance or use of non-recommended accessories or gas.

Additionally, for any interventions carried out by the S.T. Dupont After-Sales service, they cover parts and labor for a period of 12 months from the date the product leaves their repair workshop. However, for models that are more than 10 years old, replacement parts may no longer be available. In such cases, an alternative solution will be proposed.

It's also important to know that the warranty does not cover accidental damages or damages from misuse. To ensure you benefit from the warranty, keeping your original purchase receipt as proof of the date of purchase is advisable.

Issues that will void your warranty:

    • Evidence that non S.T. Dupont branded gas was used

    • Large amounts of dust or debris blocking the air intake, ignitor, burner etc.

    • Improper use of the product

    • Taking apart the product in any way other than to change the flint, butane or pen refill

    • Any physical damage (surface scratches do not count)

Physical damage like this can knock internal components around. This will void your warranty.

    • Water damage

    • Use of oil or other solvents when cleaning your product. Do not use any solvents when cleaning your products. You can learn more about proper cleaning procedure here.
