Components finished in lacquer, leather, resin, or plastic are not suitable for engraving. Beyond Engraving: Convertible Writing Instruments
Customization goes beyond engraving. Many S.T. Dupont writing instruments are designed with interchangeable components, allowing you to change the writing mode without replacing the entire pen.
Most fountain pens and rollerball pens share the same barrel and can be converted by simply replacing the grip section with the appropriate fountain pen or rollerball assembly.
